Warum mich bei Merida innere und äußere Werte überzeugen ...
Haben eure Mitschüler:innen euch früher auch ein halbes Dutzend Mal „Edel sei der Mensch, hilfreich und gut!“ ins Poesie-Album geschrieben? Also bei uns gehörte dieses Zitat zu den Top 2! Ich weiß zwar nicht, ob Goethe das massenhafte Zitieren seiner Hymne „Das Göttliche“ in dieser stark eingedampften Form feiern würde, aber mich hat dieser Spruch im Alter von 13 Jahren total genervt.
Vielleicht, weil ich bereits damals ahnte, wie schwierig es sein würde, dieses Ideal in die Tat umzusetzen oder einfach nur deshalb, weil ich Poesie-Alben grundsätzlich doof fand. Aber so überflüssig mir die Dinger auch vorkamen, so sehr blieben Goethes Zeilen doch bei mir haften und machte nachhaltig Eindruck auf mich.
Ob meine Klassenkamerad:innen von einst ahnen, dass ihr Goethe-Zitat in Krakelschrift dazu beigetragen hat, dass ich das Streben nach dem edlen Menschen in mir seither echt ernst nehme und immer ganz aus dem Häuschen bin, wenn ich diesen Ansatz auch im Handeln anderer erkenne, wie beispielsweise bei den Menschen hinter dem Garn-Label Lamana?!
Eine Garnfirma, die edel, hilfreich und gut ist? Geht das überhaupt? Ja! Und wie! Lamana ist der beste Beweis dafür! Vielleicht liegt es daran, dass 2010 – als das Unternehmen gegründet wurde – die Zeit endlich reif war für hochwertige Handstrickgarne mit ethischem Mehrwert.

Damals noch das Bedürfnis einer Minderheit, heute auf dem besten Weg, zum Mainstream zu werden. Erfreulicherweise sind immer mehr Menschen dazu bereit, den erforderlichen Preis für ideellen Mehrwert zu zahlen. Und bei Lamana bekommen sie erstklassige Qualität on top.

Die federleichte, wunderbar weiche „Merida“ möchte man erst nicht von den Nadeln lassen und dann nicht mehr ausziehen. Sie besteht aus 50 % mulesing-freier Wolle, einem fühlbar und sichtbar hohen Anteil von 25 % Seide und einer 25-%-Portion Nylon für gute Haltbarkeit und hohen Tragekomfort. Sie ist mit all ihren positiven Eigenschaften darum so viel mehr als nur ein tolles Garn für besonders schöne Socken. Wie wäre es mit Babysachen, Accessoires wie Tücher und Mützen für die ganze Familie oder zarte Oberteile? Oder magst du keinen seidigen Schimmer, keinen feinen Flaum und schon gar nicht butterweiche Strickteile?!
Für ein Paar Socken in Größe 36 bis 44 brauchst du zwei 50g-Knäuel. Wenn du sehr fest strickst, kann es sinnvoll sein, für die Lauflänge von „Merida“ mit 400m/100 g auf etwas dickere Nadeln als für klassische 420m-Sockengarne umzusteigen. Ich greife gern zur Stärke von 2,75 mm statt zur übliche 2,5 mm, denn etwas lockerer gestrickte Maschen lassen die Weichheit der „Merida“ erst so richtig aufblühen.

Why I am so convinced by Merida's inner and outer qualities ...
Did your classmates also write " Man should be noble, helpful and good!" in your poetry album? In our class, this quote was one of the top two! I don't know whether Goethe would celebrate the mass quotation of his hymn "The Divine" in this highly condensed form, but this quote totally annoyed me at the age of 13.
Perhaps because even then I sensed how difficult it would be to put this ideal into practice, or simply because I found poetry albums fundamentally stupid. But as superfluous as the things seemed to me, Goethe's lines stuck with me and made a lasting impression on me. I wonder if my former classmates suspect that their Goethe quote in scribbles has contributed to the fact that since then I have taken the striving for the noble person in me really seriously and am always very excited when I recognise this approach in the actions of others, such as in the case of the people behind the yarn label Lamana!
A yarn company that is noble, helpful and good? Is that even possible? Yes it definitely is! Lamana is the best proof of that! The feather-light "Merida" is so soft you don't want to take it off your needles and then you don't want to take the socks off. It is made of 50% mulesing-free wool, a tangible and visible high proportion of 25% silk and a 25% portion of nylon for good durability and high wearing comfort. With all its positive qualities, it is therefore so much more than just a great yarn for particularly beautiful socks. How about baby clothes, accessories like scarves and hats for the whole family or delicate tops? Or don't you like silky shimmer, fine fluff nor buttery soft knits?!
For a pair of socks in size 36 to 44 you need two 50g balls. If you knit very tightly, it might make sense to switch to slightly thicker needles for the 400m/100g meterage of "Merida" than you do with classic 420m sock yarns. I like to use 2.75 mm instead of the usual 2.5 mm, because looser stitches allow the softness of "Merida" to really blossom.
